Power Fund II is investing in 12–15 new companies in 2008–2012. Power Fund I is fully invested and makes only additional investments in its current target companies.

Power Fund II is focusing on clean technology. The special focus of these investments is on renewable and distributed power generation and energy-saving technologies in electrical and power electronics applications. A key area of interest is innovations wherein different forms of energy are converted into electricity – e.g., wind and solar power, wave energy and hydropower, and biomass – and energy saving applications such as power grip efficiency, electric vehicles, variable-speed generators, and industrial drive trains.

The investments are directed to Europe. Investments in other geographical areas require special decision by the Investor Committee.

The target initial investment in an investee company is decided upon case by case but is normally between 0.5 and 5 MEUR. The fund’s ownership of shares of any investee company will not normally represent the majority of the total equity.

The VNTM funds do not invest in listed companies, real estate holding companies, or companies whose principal business consists of banking, finance, or management of private property.
